We had an extensive porch rebuild and tuckpointing job on our house. From the estimate that we received to the actual job starting, the quality that Northshore Brickwork applied to our project was very evident. The estimator Frankie, took the time to inspect our house and what we wanted to have done. He provided a very thorough estimate and was there through each step after we approved the estimate to make sure the job was being completed to our satisfaction. Miguel and his crew were very thorough in every step of the project. We very much appreciated that they took the time needed to complete the project the right way. Not rushing just to complete it. When we got our house we knew it needed a lot of TLC but we were up for the challenge! One of the things we really wanted to fix in our house were the bricks! I was saw a truck with the name and number of the company and give them a call. Not sure what we could do but got all the advice we needed from north shore brick. After a quick meeting and couple pictures to show what was possible. We knew that was exactly what we were looking for. These guys knocked it out of the park and we get compliments everyday from the neighbors on how amazing it looks! After years of being tricked and bilked and deceived by contractors and "handymen", I am beyond pleased to report that I finally found a company that is true to their word, professional beyond reproach, and staffed by skilled, polite, trustworthy craftsmen. Les, your crew headed by Woytec C. repaired my crumbling masonry, taking care to match bricks and mortar with the my 80yr-old structure and leaving my property spic-and-span at the end of the job. By the way, workers were on time and worked so hard they were done BEFORE expected completion time! To be sure of everything was as I expected, Woytec returned a couple days after to check in. North Shore carried out exterior repairs and replacements for the exterior of our residence, as well as the brick fence that surrounds our property. After the work commenced, I had a couple questions and concerns about some areas of our exterior that may have been missed or overlooked. Luke Bergman, the North Shore Project Manager, was extremely attentive to my questions and visited promptly to meet with me and work out a solution with myself and his crew that made everyone happy. He showed that our faith in him and his team was warranted, and we are very satisfied with the final result. We hired North Shore Brick Work to do a big job on our 6 unit condo building. We reviewed over a dozen contractors and got estimates from all of them. NSBW came in at a reasonable price and they gave us confidence that the work would be done correctly. Throughout the project all of the workers were very professional and kind. Our project lead, Fernando was super communicative and provided pictures daily of the work that was completed. They also worked with us on issues that were discovered during the job. We are very satisfied with the work they did on our building and the inspector that we hired to verify the work told us that we chose a very good company and that the work was done very well. We worked with North Shore to repair and restore a badly deteriorating brick facade wall that had been preserved from the original construction of our renovated home. Though their bid came in on the higher end, we were impressed by the ease of communication, thoroughness of the estimate, generous warranty and overall professionalism compared to other masonry companies we received quotes from. Luke especially was great to work with as a project manager. He was extremely responsive and helpful in the few areas where we had questions or concerns as work was being completed, and worked diligently to make sure we were happy with the results. After having used multiple masonry companies for different projects, we saw a post from the owner on Facebook and decided to reach out JUST before signing with another company. From quote to completion, everything was smooth, fair, and professional. Luke was VERY communicative and made the entire process quick easy. The crew was solid, did great work, and came back very quickly to finish some final details. The end result - tuckpointing, glass block windows and a new sistered wood beam - all look awesome and we're already planning to use them again for an interior brick project soon. Contacted North Shore Brickwork and I was exceptional please with their work. The job performed had far exceeded my expectations. The project manager, Luke Bergman arrived promptly and explained what needed to be accomplished and provided a detailed explanation as well. The crew was neat and most satisfying was the work. I normally don’t provide reviews, but in this case, they deserve the recognition for excellence in the quality of service. This is a top notch company. Hiring a new contractor can be pretty stressful, but after much research, I landed on North Shore and am very happy I did. Job was for tuck-pointing and brick repair on a 110 year old greystone. The project foreman, Miguel, was very attentive - answered my questions, knew exactly what the issues were and guided his team to complete the work in an expert and professional way. Day to day, the masons were led by Luis who also led the job very well - kept things as clean as possible (considering the amount of dust masonry work makes) and the final caulking work by Fernando was very well done. And finally, there was some last minute limestone repair work done to the decorative coping and I was completely shocked at the incredible job Chewie did -- so seamless was the repair, you can barely see it. He's a magician. All in all - I'd highly recommend NSBW (and have already recommended them to neighbors and friends in need of masonry work). ~ larry b

North Shore Masonry and Concrete did a wonderful job on my commercial building, and working with them was a very pleasant experience throughout. They provided a quote quickly and at a price that was fair. Their crew spent nearly 2 weeks repairing a number of deficiencies in our building--including extra issues found during construction that they repaired for no additional charge. They were extremely knowledgeable and helped us identify and solve water-intrusion issues as well as a substantial structural issue with one of the corners of our building. The quality of their work was top-notch. They matched new brick to existing brick, the tuckpointing was clean, and they repaired the structural issues expertly. Their crew was also great to work with and made accomodations to avoid interfering with our business. I needed some brick repair and minor tuckpointing done on my house and I called several places to come evaluate and provide an estimate. Out of 5 places, 2 came and only North Shore was professional and timely at the visit and with the estimate. Once I decided to hire them, communication with the office easy, quick, professional and friendly. Once scheduled, The workers were in time and very neat and accurate and the work done is exceptional. The brickwall between my garage and my neighbor's was damaged, including the drywall inside. North Shore Masonry was highly recommended on FB, and I contacted them for an estimate. Carlos showed up to for the estimate, which was reasonable, and they were able to do the brick work and the drywall work, which wasn't the case for other places I called. Fernando and his team did an amazing job on the brickwork, and the new area blends in with the existing wall. Julio and his team fixed the drywall, and you can't tell there was any work done at all. Jay Conway the estimator for the tuckpointing on my chimney came out and assessed what needed to be done. Later that night he called and stated what the estimate would be and said I would receive an email with estimate and if I wanted North Shore Brickwork to do the job they would be more than happy to accommodate.I approved the work the next day, set up an appointment to have the work done and within two weeks it was completed. I had a good experience working with Luke and Julio at NS Masonry. The overall craftsmanship was better than I expected, and Julio who rebuilt my front steps did a great job. My front steps were degrading due to weather and elements and NS Masonry offered me a few options to repair or replacement my front steps and platform. The process was relatively easy to pick the best solution. I do recommend having them bring out the pavers/bluestone/etc. before you select your solution as it’s hard to evaluate from pictures. I would recommend NS Masonry to my neighbors. ~ James

We hired North Shore to tuckpoint our condo building and chose them because their estimator spent a good deal of time walking through each unit and examining each leak. We felt confident in the scope of work being tailored to our needs. When the work was completed, we discovered a new leak, which we reported to North Shore. They were incredibly responsive and sent out a team to review the problem and make the necessary repairs. It took multiple times to resolve the root cause, but North Shore stood by their work and fixed all leaks at no additional cost. ~ Deanna V

1 word: Trustworthy Their initial estimate was not the cheapest but also not the most expensive. I ultimately decided to go with them based on many good reviews on Home Advisor. My experience: 1) Promptly scheduled and performed service within a week of contacting them 2) Honored initial estimate even though project required more work than anticipated 3) Final result looks clean and met expectations 4) Can't comment on long-term quality, but nothing at present that raises concern 5) Would contact them again for future projects and would recommend them to a friend or neighbor ~ Rakesh N

What a great experience!!! It started in August of 2016, where we got a quote for addressing chicago building violations. Signed the contract and off we go. But no, we needed building permits. Well that took 11 1/2 months. With a 50% deposit sitting with Northshore I was worried. But not the case we got the permits and called and they came by the next day, reviewed the contract and started just a few days later. Now for the work they did. Clean, neat and though. They did a bunch more than expected. Would give 5 stars and a strong recommendation!!! ~ Stephen S

North Shore Masonry and Concrete did work for us on our roof, chimney, and tuckpointing our two flat. The company has a policy of always taking care of their clients, and I can attest that this is true! Actually, they take care of other company's clients as well: the work they did on our roof was fixing work done by another company that was never fixed by the original company. The issues that arose with our chimney and tuckpointing were addressed by North Shore Masonry and Concrete quickly, respectfully, and to our satisfaction. North Shore Brick was very professional. The customer service was amazingly responsive. We called for a quote and they sent a professional out to the house soon after. The quote was competitive. We had North Shore Brick re-do our chimney stack that was falling apart. They had to rebuild it in many areas. They tuckpointed many areas around the house. After the work was complete they painted these areas to match the house. We were impressed with their work and would hire again. North Shore Brickwork did a great job on our 3 story building. Greg, Roman and the whole crew were very informative on the work needed and they provided good photos as the work was moving along to keep us updated at all times. We had some additional issues that came up unexpectedly during the tuckpointing and lintel bar project but they were great on working everything out with us. Jaye at the office was also a pleasure to work with. Pretty good clean up everyday and at the end of all the work too. I would definitely hire them again. ~ Stacey K
